The airplane drama series Manifest will not be renewed by NBC after three seasons. The decision came on Monday, hours before the actors’ options were due to expire. Remarkable because the series that premiered in September 2018 is popular on Netflix and was number one in America last week.
Manifesto is about Montego Air Flight 828, which landed safely after a turbulent routine flight. The crew and passengers were relieved, but in those few hours the world had aged five years. Their friends, families and colleagues have given up hope and moved on with their lives. Now, faced with the impossible, they all get a second chance. But as their new reality becomes apparent, a deeper mystery unfolds, and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something bigger than they ever thought possible.
The hope of fans is that Netflix or another platform will pick up the series and develop it further.
